Jack: After the freakshow that was the DNC convention, I am quite honestly worn out by all the angry estrogen. But I will talk briefly about abortion. I was informed by a grad-school colleague of mine that until I have a uterus, I don’t have a right to an opinion about abortion (never mind the fact that I am thoroughly pro-choice). The stridency of these broads cannot possibly be making them many friends.

Back in August, during a Springfield City Council public hearing on amending the city’s nondiscrimination ordinance to include sexual orientation and gender identity protections, Rev. Phil Snider of the Brentwood Christian Church lashed out at the council for “inviting the judgement of God upon our land” by making “special rights for gays and lesbians.”
He goes on to invoke the bible and morality and the end of days a few more times before suddenly appearing to lose his train of thought.

An early draft of the Republican platform accuses the Obama administration of “attempting to impose” on the “peoples of Africa…legalized abortion and the homosexual rights agenda,” and hopes to change that. 21st century America y’all.
Serwer: “As far as the GOP is concerned, ‘religious freedom’ doesn’t extend to people who do not subscribe to the religious conviction that homosexuality is sinful and should be punished by the state.”
