For OWS protestors, tomorrow is a national day of action against foreclosures and evictions. After a march through vacant homes in Brooklyn’s East New York neighborhood, OWS protestors plan to re-occupy a foreclosed home.
But foreclosure actions are nothing new. In this video, Rachel Maddow describes marches and riots against housing prices, foreclosures and evictions during the great depression. After an eviction during the Great Depression groups of neighbors might even have moved furniture back into the home.
@JoshHarkinson continues to report for Mother Jones on OWS after their own eviction from Zuccotti Park, and he’ll be tweeting from tomorrow’s protests in Brooklyn.
