I took this photo last year at the anti-“ground zero mosque” rally, around the corner from the Park 51 site.

I’d never seen a cop who looked or dressed like him before. You can’t make it out in this picture too well, but that’s his gun tucked inside his belt. He’s definitely a real cop. In fact, he was commanding officer at the event.
